Mrs. Shirley Ann Balcom, age 78, of Hart, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012. She was born July 12, 1934, in Chicago, IL to Frank and Frances (Weed) Dutton. She was a foster parent and day care worker and member of First Baptist Church of Hart.

Shirley is survived by her children, Kevin (Patti) Balcom of Casnovia, Pam Crawford of Muskegon, Wyman (Candy) Balcom of North Carolina, and Amy (Pete) Strait of Hart; one sister, Glenda Van Hassel of Whitehall; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Balcom, a granddaughter, Tiffany Hardy, and a brother, Walter Dutton.

The memorial service for Mrs. Balcom will be held Friday, December 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hart with Pastor Mark M. Looman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Oceana Christian School, 3258 North 72nd Avenue, Hart, MI 49420.
