Mr. Julius Eugene “Gene” Tipple, age 85, of Hart, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013. He was born August 8, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio to Ralph and Hazel (Hoover) Tipple, Sr. He served in the US Army during World War II and attended Oakland University for two years. Gene married Gertrude Mae Berry on May 26, 1951 in Genoa, Ohio. He was employed at Consumers Power Company as a boiler operator until his retirement on December 1, 1987.Julius is survived by his wife, Gertrude Tipple; one daughter, Karen (Ken) Duperron of Columbiaville, Michigan; four sons, David (Brenda) Tipple of West Olive, Eric (Veronica) Tipple of Greenwich, Ohio, Daniel (Brenda) Tipple of Wooster, Ohio, and Mark Tipple of Arizona; ten grandchildren, Robert Tipple, Nikki Tipple, Josh Tipple, Jason Duperron, Bethany Doyle, Tasha Barnett, Larry Tipple, Mandy Tipple, Calvin Tipple, and Delanie Tipple; and three sisters, Audrey Rupp, Carol Kristenak, and Barb Siders. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph Tipple, Jr. and Paul Tipple, and two sisters, Patsy Swably and Doris Amidon. The Memorial Service for Mr. Tipple will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at King Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Foley officiating. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at King Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Oceana County Humane Society.
